The Zoo!

Zach and I recently went to the zoo. When we first walked through the gates there was a bird looking for food by the picnic tables. Zach said, "First animal of the daaaay! The common sparrow." I laughed really hard. And this is why we are dating, because neither of us are that funny, but in our own world we are the most brilliant comedians that were ever born.

You know that person that takes really boring pictures? The subject of their picture is usually so far away you can't even tell what it is, and it doesn't really matter because it's usually something really boring like a weird tree or something. They have photo albums full of "scenic shots" and probably a few of fireworks.

Well I think everyone is that person at the zoo, including me I discovered. Because you're like, "It's a LION!!!" and even though you're behind a fence and about a mile away from him you're like "I have to take a PICTURE!! Look at him laying there!!" Which is why I included helpful notes on the following photos.

I took a picture of this lady's pants; there was bright green stitching everywhere, including along her crack. Which for the record I don't think this is a bad picture, but on the contrary, awesome.

I thought the rhinos were frightening at first. Then two zoo workers went down in the pit with them and the rhinos didn't maul them. They just polished their horns on these big cat-scratcher-type things while the workers petted them. Then I was like "oh sweet rhinos."

The lion did not care about entertaining us at all. He was like, "Whatevs. (*stretch, roll over)"

By far, the coolest part about the zoo is the new monkey exhibit. You walk into this little room where you leave your purse and jackets, then you walk out the other side and there are monkeys JUST WALKING AROUND. Not in cages! There was a zoo worker ther monitoring everything. She was pretty hard core. She was afraid one of us was going to step on a monkey. When Zach and I walked up she was like "Please be careful! We have a few SPECIMENS RIGHT HERE ON THE GROUND!"

I was kind of nervous one of them was going to jump on my head. But they were really cute.

Yes to the random horrible picture taking people, which brings us to Ruth. Ruth will send Chris pictures of a bench in her backyard or her creepy yard animals. I'm guilty of taking about 300 pictures of the "Electric Light Parade" at Disneyland. They came out dark, blurry and useless. I ended up throwing them all out, but I admit to getting caught up in the moment because it was the same parade I watched as a little girl!

I need to go see that monkey exhibit! We should go with the babies...

Lol, I love the chemistry of you and Zach. You have been laughing at that kid since high school and it's so sweet! Everyone has to go to the zoo, yearly if not quarterly. My experience was some what traumatic last time I went. I decided to brave the reptile room, very dark...I took one look at the boa constrictor box and went into short breathes immediately followed by cold sweating. Never again.

lol Zach tried to get me to go into the reptile tunnel and I wouldn't do it. Very close quarters in there.

lol Ruth. I swear she isn't real. She is a character from a book. Chris you should make a photo album of just the pictures Ruth sends you. The cover should be a close up of her beehive hairdo.

I should, except I throw out half of her pics. She sends me endless shots of her yard, which is pretty, but, yawnnnnn. Her pictures all look like the pictures you take at the end of a roll when you were wasting shots just so you could get it developed.

I love the zoo, but I don't like monkeys. They are too much like humans, picking their noses, picking their friends noses, flinging poop, etc. etc. They make me uncomfortable... LOVE the green pants shot and the 'whatevs' Lion. The big cats are always "whatevs"...just like the little cats.
