I think when you're in a relationship, it's important to keep a hold of your own identity; however, inevitably you tend to pick up some of your significant other's behavior and language. Don't you love when I give out unsolicited advice in a field that is not my expertise? And for free!

My point is, Zach has used the word "clutch" and can correctly identify one if asked. He knows that flats are diffent from heels and that both are different from wedges. He can name several brands of designer jeans. He knows that Target is open until 10.

He now calls babies and cute animals "loves". For instance, "Talia is such a loves, when is Heidi going to let us babysit her again?"

He called this guy a loves too.

Unfortunately this is a two way street. I know that Travis Pastrana, Twitch, and Brian Deegan are all professional dirt bikers; and no I did not have to look up their names. I know that one has to "put in" and "be drawn" in order to go hunting. I know how much a lift kit costs for a Ford F150.

That might all seem pretty harmless. I'm not finished. Zach likes to call things that are cool or good, "tits". As in, "When I get my new wheels, my truck is going to be so tits."

dirtbike
Dirtbikes are apparently tits.

Yes I know. It's gross, it's weird, maybe even a little sexist; basically the lowest form of boy-talk. And yet, this happened:

Acquaintance: I'm so excited it's finally getting cold! I love getting all bundled up.
Erica: Yeah it's pretty tits.
Acquaintance: ...
Erica: ...
Erica: Um, I'm sorry. My boyfriend says that a lot.
Acquaintance: oh.

Erica, you are too damned funny.

I love this story - but don't love so much that Zach even uses that phrase, leading you to ultimately picking it up. Try slapping upside the head every time he says it and see if he stops :)

**Did you change your comments options? It's not giving me the same options as before.....

You did not use that word!! LOLOLOL Erica. Maybe you could use that when staying over at Grandma's house???

((and very sound unsolicited advice there. very sage.))

I was a little taken aback when I heard Zach rattling off names of brand jeans! I felt like saying "did you lose your testosterone boy..get a hold of yourself"

Very funny, I chuckled through the entire post.

When Tim used the phrase "that was a good trailer" while we were at the movies, I knew I had succeeded.

Your BACK!!!!!!

Since you got your laptop, I had been feeling like maybe your heart has only been half in it with this whole blogging thing. However, THAT was a great post.

A tit for a tit.

I don't think that's how the saying goes, but I also don't think that there is a phrase more appropriate for this situation.

Okay, you don't even know how many times I have read this post about the words you have traded. It's amazing.
