I liked our DJ- except that for our song we wanted to dance to, he played the wrong one. We wanted "The Way You Look Tonight" (Tony Bennett) and he played "Unforgettable" (Nat King Cole), which is good, but WRONG!
So hopefully your DJ will get your requests right.
Chris at birkettentertainment.com - he is a little cheesy-ish but not in the traditional way. he will teach the group a dance so that no one feels stupid (or everyone feels stupid - your call).
They are both on the pricier side as far as dj's go, but they are both worth it.
Cheese is one of my favorite food groups but I'll do it! We could do like a tribute to dead rock stars! Queen (I love Freddie Mercury), Jim Morrison, The Rolling Stone (who should all be dead), Jimi Hendrix, Karen Carpenter(?), Liberace (little know fact...he and Freddy Mercury were once lovers), Warren Zevon (a personal favorite), Kurt Cobain, ELVIS (maybe he'll even do a guest appearance!), Pantera ('Dimebag' Darrell Abbott), The Ramones (I think they are all dead), Luther Vandross, Sid Vicious, Janis Joplin, John Lennon (sans Oko-unless you want the screaming). Sorry, no Selena or Bee Gees -- can't go there.
I'm not sure what city you're located in.....but our company specializes in Non-Cheesy wedding DJs in the Sacramento area--- DJ MC Sacramento Wedding DJs...even if you're not located in Northern CA, I can refer you to similar DJ services all across the USA (I network with many of them, and can give you a good recommendation). Guaranteed: NO Macarena, No YMCA, No Chicken Dance, No Hokey Pokey, No Line Dances, No Kenny G, No Ricky Martin, No Crap Rap, No Barbie Girl, No "Who Let The Dogs Out".....well you get the idea! My web site is www.dj-mc.com===best of luck=== Matt, DJ-MC

boys...
I have never met a non-cheesy DJ. You know you want the Electric Slide at your reception. Good luck with that.

Dang it, I had my hopes set on doing the Macarena at your wedding...
Does this mean I should not expect wedding photos to include a kitty DJ? Boo.
