Living with a boy.

Living with a boy has its pros and cons. The other day there was a Jurassic Park sized mosquito in the house and Zach killed it for me, pro. Also he is cute, pro.

Here are some cons.

Zach is obsessed with protein shakes. He drinks one every day. Making these shakes involves his most prized possession from our wedding gifts, the "KitchenAid Immersion Blender".



Every night I walk into the kitchen to find this blender and this plastic cup covered in chocolate shake residue, not rinsed, sitting on the counter or laying in the sink. This fact was naturally brought to Zach's attention in my most patient wife voice, multiple times. Well last night I walked into the kitchen and there was no dirty shake stuff left out! Miracle of miracles. However, this made me very suspicious because I know my husband very well. Cautiously, I opened the cupboard where Zach keeps his shake supplies. And to my not-surprise at all, a DIRTY cup and a DIRTY immersion blender sat in the cupboard. Put away, as if they were clean! GROSS. and GROSS.

We also have a magnetic knife strip hanging on the wall where we put our knives. One day I looked at this strip and a dirty knife was hanging there, posing as a clean knife, even though it very obviously was not clean. This is when the following conversation took place:

E: "Did you hang a dirty knife back up?"
Z: "Yeah."
E: "Zach! That's gross!"
Z: "I thought it was fine."

Oh, he thought it was "fine".
