Weekend Project

Against my better judgement, we went to Ikea on Saturday; and we almost died. But somehow we came out not only alive; but with some new shelves for the kitchen. Side note - have you noticed the items at Ikea that instead of giving you an isle and bin number the tag says, "If you are interested in this item, please find an employee in this area." And there are NEVER any employees ANYWHERE. Does anyone even work there?

So here is the cabinet that I've wanted to rip down since we moved in.


So we unscrewed it and then realized it was still glued to the wall; so I got up on the counter and started yanking on it and suddenly it dropped down with a crash and almost broke my foot, awesome. Then Zach yelled at me for being overzealous, also awesome. But the point is we got it off the wall, and it looked like this, pretty:


Then we got to work.


Pegs helped.


He was very proud that the first shelf was done.


Then the serious business continued.


This was the chaos off to the left.


And then, they were finished!! And only a couple of marital fights!! That means a successful home improvement project in my book.
