Wall adjustments

There is this wall, it's giving me trouble. It looked like this.

New Wall 006
Sorry for the ugly lighting.

Zach said one day, "I think that wall needs something." I had been harboring this same opinion, and was surprised he had even thought about it. Rarely does he give design opinions, and when he does it's something like, "Let's do my den in red, silver, and black." First of all his "den" is an empty room upstairs that currently houses a chair, our old tv, and his Xbox that he insists I call "the den." Second of all: no Zach, no.

But I agreed with him on the wall. So to Goodwill I did go and picked up these hideous items.

Then I spray painted and rearranged, and now the wall looks like this.

New Wall 019

New Wall 017

I'm still feeling "meh." about it though. I think it needs everything gone and just one big piece of art instead. But for now I shall just complain about it and do nothing.

I think it's cute! And of course you're "meh" about it.

definitely an improvement though!

I think it needs another piece of artwork instead of more empty frames (although they are interesting and pretty).

Just my $.02

I'm thinkin' you are right about the big artwork.

Each individual piece has great character, but I think because it's a large space of uninterrupted wall, even with their powers combined they get a bit lost. You need a big drill sergeant of an artwork to put that wall in its place.

P.S. I love the ornate oval mirror you found and painted!
P.P.S. Lolling at my drill sergeant analogy but still hitting publish.

The only thing missing is a autographed picture of William Hung.

You can find it here:

Is he, or is he not, AMAZING?

For some reason, this post is hysterically funny. I mean tears rolling funny. It's the last comment of complaining and doing nothing.

To be honest, the post probably isn't all that humorous, but since Michelle and Allison are together again, everything is hysterical.

But yes, meh.

I'm thinking about posting pictures of blank wall after blank wall, and we've been in our house 3 years. Maybe then you'd be inspired and focus some of your stylish stylings onto my house. Good plan.

I love the round mirrors and think the added Goodwill items look great. A big art piece would be nice too, but for me this wall is much more interesting to look at. You have a really great eye for arranging.

Good luck with getting yard improvements by Halloween! Yard improvements are the only improvements I can get Jason to commit to. Unfortunately the inside has yet to be worked on!

ok maybe I am a nerd (or maybe I just know NOTHING about decorating) but I think it is perfect just the way it is! I love how all the pieces are different but still go together. I want it in my house!!
