8:00pm – While watching The Wire we realize Peggy is missing. Go outside to search for her.
9:00pm – Still searching on foot and in truck and starting to panic.
9:45pm – Zach suggests we stay home and that she’ll come back. I start balling and wail something incoherent about how she’s probably eaten by a dog, hit by a car, or picked up by a cat torturer.
10:00pm – Go upstairs to make a Lost Cat flier, typing through my sobs.
10:05pm – Zach walks in holding Peggy after discovering her meowing at the front door. Peggy looks entirely unperturbed.
10:10pm – Realize I am a much crazier cat owner than I thought.
Stupid cat.

I speak for me, Julia, and Laura, that we fully accept such crazy behavior and have done the same thing.
You are not a crazy cat owner, your behavior was completely sane and normal.
"typing through my sobs"
Naughty fat cat! Doesn't she know you'll be worried sick?? She needs to be grounded.
9:45 ... you forgot coyotes, hawks and bobcats
You can never be too paranoid when it comes to a missing cat.
She came back?!? Good thing because I would have cried for you. I used to wake up in panic attacks because I would think I had somethered my cat by rolling onto it in the middle of the night. Emily did it once too and then understood my pain. We can all be old crazy cat ladies together.
Laura - lol lol, Zach and I have both waken up and thought we killed the cat via suffocation more than once.
