Emitting genuine curiosity while holding up a few pieces of my hair:
"Oh so are these what split ends are?"
Looking me up and down and, again, with genuine curiosity:
"So is that the style now? To not match at all?"
One day I experimented with my bangs and pinned them back in almost a 20s flapper type way, flat to my forehead:
"Um...I like it when your hair has a little more...volume on top."

LOL to all of them, especially the clothes not matching, after all, she does give you shite about your attire constantly.

LOL that is hilarious. At least he says them in a sweet and innocent way, right? I have the same problem with the no upper lip thing. I think it might be a Guttery thing.
