Chick

Chick, originally uploaded by erigutt.

As many of you probably know, these chick heads are available at Target right now. They have them hanging on strings from the ceiling, and it's by far the greatest holiday display I've ever seen. When I first saw it I made loud squeaking noises and then fainted in the isle because my brain could not handle all the cuteness.

I want to buy all the chick heads available, fill up an above ground pool with them, and bury myself in the middle; then probably take a nap.

I usually keep this particular chick head on my night stand so that I can see her when I first wake up. When I went home sick last week because my allergies were trying to murder me by suffocating me with my own mucus, I wanted to lay on the couch; so I moved Bow-Chick-Head out into the living room. Zach came over later to check on me:

Zach: Did you move the chick head out here to keep you company?
Erica: Yes.
Zach: You're really weird.
Erica: (moves Bow Chick and gently places her on Zach’s belly, where he is laying on his back on the floor, so that she is facing him)
Erica: You must bond with Bow-Chick-Head.

They're still working on their relationship but I think they'll become good friends some day.

You are certainly my daughter. I was also at Target last week and spotted the chick head sitting on a shelf beckoning me to cradle her yellow softness.

The chick head has a mysterious effect of comforting the holder.

lol to the above ground pool.

I love it! What a cute little chick-head. I want one. I'm still pissed that they haven't built a Target within a 15 mile radius of my house. I despise Walmart. But they are popping up like weeds.

The chickhead is a soothing balm. Maybe I need to go to Target with Sween today...

It seems to be that your infatuation is linked to the fact that the bow-chick-head resembles the adorableness of your sweet cousin Camille. If you put their faces side by side, you could nearly claim their separation at birth.

Hilarious. I just bought two today before reading your entry. Even though I have two boys, I couldn’t handle the cute, so they’re getting chicken heads for Easter.
