Today my cute mom is one year older and wiser too. My favortie things about the birthday girl:
She is always dressed to the nines. Perfect hair, perfectly planned outfit, and always topped with pefectly coordinated fancy gold jewelry.
She is one of my favorite people to talk to on the phone, probably because she's hilarious. She never fails to make me laugh, usually very shortly after her greeting of "Hellllllooooooo."
She always has and always will take care of me: "stand up straight", "get your hair out of your face", "have you gotten your oil changed?", "how are your brakes?", "What have you eaten today?"
She believes every single word she reads in US Weekly.
I can go to her for thoughtful, excellent advice anytime and about anything. She's been around the block, so to speak, and I respect her opinion more than anyone's.
She's fun. Fun to be around, fun to talk to, fun to shop with; I could go stand in line at the Motor Vehicle Division with her and it would be a blast.
She is my mom, and I am one lucky girl. I love you!

And it's so true about it being fun with Shelly no matter where you're at. She's an instant party.
Happy Birthday M-Dawg! Being with you is always ALL laughs. I was just talking to Erica the other day about how well you dress, and nothing has changed from that picture, you're still 100 pounds and look great!
