Larva Club

Okay I know I just did a childhood photo post, and honestly how many childhood photo posts can you people put up with? But hear me out:

IMG_2521
Zach and his brother Sam, during a time period that we will obviously dub "The Bowl-Cut Years".

The thing about dating Zach for 5 gazillion years is at one point I decided I knew everything about him. But every once in awhile he proves me wrong, and tells me some new story about him that I've never heard. Usually the story is a humiliating memory from his childhood, and usually (all the time) I find these stories highly entertaining and hilarious and I get mad that he has never told me the story before because I think about all the years that I've missed out on laughing at his childhood awkwardness. Lest you think I am a brat for this, I assure you I was the most awkward child/tween that ever existed and have therefore earned the right to laugh at the embarrassing experiences of others. Don't believe me?

Really cute
There. You are never allowed to question me again.

Well today I will share with you one of Zach's stories, it isn't humiliating because this is the Internet and I have to draw the line somewhere (Zach drew the line) but it is still a fun window into the world of a boy with a bowl-cut. I heard about it last week and the title is:

The Larva Club

During the bowl-cut years Zach, Sam, and some neighborhood boys started a club and they called it "The Larva Club". I will break down for you the rules, regulations, and code of "The Larva Club"

Larva Club Members:
Zach aka "Scab"
Sam aka "Zit"
and two other friends: "Callus" and "Pus"

War Cry:
"Larva RULE!"

Code Names:
Code-name for adults: flies
Code-name for younger kids: maggots
Code-name for babies: eggs

Larva Club Meetings:
Yes, there were club meetings. During these meetings the Larva Club members discussed how best to annoy the maggots while avoiding the flies. These plans mostly involved Nerf guns and headset walkie-talkies. Also, various drawings of maps.

So, here's to awkward years, childhood clubs, braces and bowl-cuts.

Man, why couldn't we be that creative with our "APE" meetings? :-)

Love the childhood stories of you two, we will never tire of them!

And Zach's Wayne's World shirt is PRICELESS.

Sweetie, we all had awkward years, even Cindy Crawford did, and yours weren't that bad!

that last picture is seriously amazing! His wayne's world tee, their haircuts with hair bleached out from days spent out in the hot summer sun, working on the weapons for their secret club. I LOVE kids! Why can't life be that cool anymore?
