A typical email exchange.

Malia: You’ve eaten cheese bread before, right? You know where you have a piece of bread and put cheese on it and then put it in the microwave to melt? Brad was like totally disgusted by it.

Erica: I used to eat cheese bread all the time when I was a kid! Now it kind of grosses me out though because the bread gets soggy.

Malia: That’s the best part, but I understand your concern.

Side note: I actually called this “Cheese Melted on Bread” which is an unnecessarily informative title for this particular snack. But I remember always using the full name.

Side note #2: Malia and I also discussed the fact that Zach made me grilled cheese last night with mayonnaise (?!?!?!) on it, and it was the most horrible experience I’ve ever had.

We've discussed cheese snacks for most the morning, cheers Malia.

Has your mother ever shared with you the joy of "Melted Cheese & Bologna"???

Was a teenage favorate and, sadly, I still crave them now and then... but have maybe only had them twice in the past 20 years.

Toast a piece of bread.
cover it with Miracle Whip (must be MW, not mayo - need the 'zing')
Add a slice of bologna.
Add a slice of Kraft processed American cheese.

Put under the broiler, or in a toaster oven until the cheese melts and start to bubble slightly.

Enjoy. Though be careful, because the cheese will stick to the roof of your mouth and it's hot.

I can't decide if it sounds disgusting or delicious right now...

Um...did you say Mayo on a grilled cheese? That is horrid. Please tell me you didn't eat it.....Who taught zach to make something so terrible?

Allison~
Your concoction {did I spell that right?} however sounds fantastic. I don't think there is a better sandwich in the world than bologna, cheese, and MW!

Side note~
I just have to tell you all that I love the conversations that go on in the comments section of this blog. They are very entertaining. Still not as good as the blog itself though. Glad I can join in sometimes, thanks!

That is an amazing picture of Malia.

Zach needs better 'white trash cooking' lessons.

cheese + bread = two of the seven deadly sins, by which i mean, TASTY.

my mom makes grilled cheese with mayo AND mustard, it is so incredibly disgusting. all you need is cheese, bread, a lil' butter, lots of ketchup for dunking (this is controversial).
