One Year

To Loves,

Can you believe it's been a whole year? Do you remember all this? :

Remember when he pronounced us husband and wife and you kissed me? "Come on Eileen" started playing; which reminds me of driving around in your non-air conditioned brown truck in high school. I pretended I hated riding in that truck; but really I wanted to be anywhere you were.
married!

Remember when we went to the Bahamas? We spent way too much money to rent a lounge chair at this beach, and then we ate at a little bar under a cabana. I had pizza with chicken and green olives; and you had conch chowder. We agreed it was maybe the best meal we've ever had. We watched the bartender cut up lemons and limes and pineapples; and we both said how relaxing it was to watch him slice fruit.

Remember how I tried making dinners in our first little place? They weren't very good and they're still not very good, but you always appreciate them. I like when I say I'm going to make dinner and then when I get home you say you'll take me to Pei Wei's because you know I REALLY don't want to make dinner.
dinner!

Remember when our electricity went out at that condo? We sat out on the patio and watched the rain and the wind, and then we came inside and lit candles and played The Newlywed Board Game. We got sick of it though so we just read eachother the questions and laughed at our answers.
power out

Remember when we went to California? It was our first little married trip other than our honeymoon and we were so excited. Then your truck got broken into the night before we left, and your ipod was stolen. So we had to take my little car and listen to my music; and you weren't very happy about those two facts. We found this beach we'd never been to and we hung around until sunset, the weather was perfect and there was hardly anyone around and it was one of those moments where I couldn't believe how lucky I was to be there with you.
Labor Day Weekend 08 004

Remember when we got a kitten? We went to the animal shelter, and you had already been earlier that week so you told me, "Just follow me and it's going to smell." You know I have a hard time handling bad smells. And you were right, it smelled really bad. We found little Pegs, then we went to the front counter to fill out paperwork and we both agreed the lady that worked there had a major attitude problem.

Remember when we went to Holbrook in the fall? We stayed at my grandma's; and it was this weird feeling of being at a place of so many childhood memories; and now being there with my husband. But it felt right, and I love that you love Holbrook as much as I do.

Remember when I made you go look at Christmas lights at the famous Cherry culdesac? You weren't that excited about it; but you went for me. And I got hot chocolate at QT even though it wasn't that cold because dammit we were going to make a Christmas memory if it killed me. But then I burnt my tongue and you rolled your eyes because I always burn my tongue. And then we laughed at the Spongebob Squarepants display because there was something not quite right about their homemade characters.

Remember how we bought a house and we still can't quite believe it? We still say to eachother, "This is our house! Did you know we own this house?" And it's so empty because we definitely don't have enough furniture to fill it yet; but we love every square inch of it.

Remember how when we got married I didn't think I could love anyone as much as I loved you? Well I love you even more now.

Very tender, very sweet.

You are both equally blessed to have one another.

I could not wish for a nicer son in law or a sweeter daughter.
