House updates

Here's a little wall display in the kitchen that I did recently with the help of my mother. She is where I inherited my love of decorating, and the woman knows her stuff.

I know monograms are getting to be overdone but I still like them, I can't help it.

Another kitchen project involves the tile. One day Zach and I decided we didn't like our kitchen island; it was installed very poorly, it was crooked, and just too big for the space. So, we took it out. However there was an outlet in said island and so for the last few weeks we have had these electrical wire thingies (technical term) sticking out of our tile, like so:

Pretty.

And also you can't tell in the picture but there was a big hump in the tile where the wire is coming out. Basically it looked like someone had buried a body under our house and didn't bother to level out the grave before intalling tile. So lots of things happened and none of it is interesting, but basically now it looks like this.

And Zach felt very tough, even though his much handier brother did all the work.

Next we have to obviously put in the replacement tiles but there's been some complications, because there are ALWAYS complications with any project you do on your house no matter how small. That's what I've learned.

So, to be continued on the kitchen floor. You'll have to wait, PERCHED on the EDGE of your seats.

LOL perched at the edge of your seats. Lol.

It looks so good! Your mom does know her stuff, which is why when I receive any compliment on my home I lock it in a drawer and bring it out when I need to feel good.

Your mom is super creative. Love it.

Again. Come do my house. For free. And you have to buy all the supplies. Who can say no to that, huh?

Malia. LOL.

So glad the chipped tile is getting fixed...it was driving me crazy and I don't even live there.

I will kind of miss the little capped off wires poking up threatening to electrocute me...

You are lucky you have a fairly handy husband with an even handier bother to help with the shenanigans of house repair.
